Thoughts on Judging

It is natural to judge a situation based on what we think we know; however, without first-hand information and investigation, most of the time, we do not have the whole story. It is important to try to remember there are as many sides to a story as the people and emotions involved. I was corresponding with a sweet friend recently who has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I wanted to let her know that she inspires me with her positive attitude in the face of adversity. She shared the following with me; and, I was so touched. She has given her gracious permission for me to share her beautiful perspective with others. " I view the world thorough everyone's perspective. The person that cut you off on the road might have just gotten bad news from the doctor; The waitress that was rude might have had the customer before complain; and, what they didn't realize is that her electricity was turned off this morning and she's just plain having a bad day. She just needs one person to tip her a little extra and tell her thank you for the good service (even if it was not so great) and her day may change for the better. It's rare that some stranger can do something to anger me; and, it's amazing when they see I don't react how they change their behavior too. My mother would play Zig Ziegler tapes in the morning while we were getting ready, whether I wanted to listen or not; so, I'm guessing that has a big part of my thinking ( or lack of stinkin thinkin). " Her sweet message to me inspired these words: Please don't judge me. You don't know this; but, I am paddling just as fast as I can to keep up. A lil' bit of encouragement would be great about now~Becky Bro
