WE over think and we under think; but some things should be let go without a BLINK.....Becky Bro These words came to me when I read the message "Don't let stupid things break your happiness. I was reminded that we find peace in the middle. According to the Tao-Buddhist tradition, The Middle Way is the path discovered and experienced by Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) that led him to liberation; it is a path between extreme sensual indulgence and extreme asceticism and involves abstaining from extreme indulgence in sensual pleasure and extreme self-mortification; because both extremes are unworthy and lead to nowhere except literal pleasure and torture that obstruct consciousness and mindfulness. Therefore, to achieve calmness and insight the seeker of peace is cautioned that both extremes need to be avoided. We see the misery caused by extreme thinking and behaving playing out in the lives of individuals and families at the micro-level and in the culture and poltics of entire countries and nations, on the world stage, at the macro level. Extreme thinking leads to darkness no matter what noble words are attached to the ideology. Extreme thinking is the tool of individual and collectively dysfunctional Egos. When extreme thinking leads someone to advocate that others should be coerced or forced to believe or act a certain way by attempting to take away an individual's right to choose, through manipulative tactics such as using guilt, mind control, censorship, marginalization, hate, imprisonment and other forms of extreme violence, suffering is the only possible result. Individual and collective peace is found between the two extremes. Moderation in all things is necessary for balance. Once you begin to understand what it feels like to find your balance, your center, you will be able to let some things pass without even a glance. Peace is always found in the space between-Peace is found in the middle~Beck/BroTations http://bit.ly/BroTations
